The "Hype Machine" .....Why, It's Even Better Than Radio!

sits atop my blogroll at Bloglines every morning, apparently the first of my 100+ blogs to reach the bloglines maximum of 200 postings before the counting stops.

The Hype Machine apparently finds blog postings that contain .mp3 files, such as podcasts and music blogs that offer music tracks for review. Sometimes new, sometimes old, sometimes bootleg concert recordings, sometimes excellent radio broadcasts of live performances, I've found the Hype Machine is a great way to hear new music for free.

Along the left side of the Hype Machine, below the motto "Listen to Blogs Your Way!"
will be today's date and a list of blog postings containing songs. Click on "listen" below any and a pop-up window will play that song or any other posted that day.

A right-click on any song title in the pop-up player offers a "Read about this song" link that takes you to the original blog posting containing the .mp3 file you are hearing.

Not quite free Napster, but very nice!
